Wels Catfish is the biggest freshwater fish in Europe. It belongs to the Siluridae family. This fish can be found in rivers, lakes, reservoirs with muddy or sandy bottom.

Appearance:

Wels Catfish has an elongated, cylindrical body with dark brown, almost black colour.
The belly is white, almost yellow.

The male is taking care of the eggs up until they are big enough and become self-reliant.
On average it lives for 50 years.
