Pike-Perch comes from the perch-like fish species (Percidae). It is a highly valued fish from both economic and sporting point of view. The original homeland of pike-perch is the basin of Danube and Volga, from where it spread into Central and East Europe and Anatolia as well.
Appearance:
- It has an elongated, grey, and green body with two dorsal fins.
- Its back is dark green, its sides are silver, and its belly is white.
- Intended and firm front fins with dark spots.
- Small mouth with strong jaws.
- It grows up to the length of 130 centimetres and weights up to 15 kilograms.
Lifestyle:
- Pike-perch lives in great, slowly flowing rivers, reservoirs, and ponds.
- This fish prefers deep and quiet water with either muddy or sandy bottom.
- In summer pick-perch stays in shallow water, for winter it moves to the depths.
- It lives in shoals and hunts mostly at night.

Reproduction:
- Sexual maturity is reached at 3 or 4 years of life.
